Managing DNS Records

Your hosting area allows you to manage the DNS records that control how your domain connects to your website, email, and external services.

Accessing DNS Settings

  1. Log in to your Hosting Panel.
  2. Open Domains or the domain settings for the website you want to manage.
  3. Select the domain name.
  4. Open the DNS Records section.

Types of DNS Records

  • A Record – maps your domain to an IPv4 address
  • AAAA Record – maps your domain to an IPv6 address
  • CNAME Record – alias one domain to another
  • MX Record – directs email to your mail servers
  • TXT Record – includes SPF, DKIM, or verification codes
  • SRV Record – defines specific services

Common uses

  • Point your main domain to a website.
  • Connect www or other subdomains to the correct destination.
  • Route email using MX, SPF, DKIM, and verification records.
  • Confirm domain ownership for third-party tools and platforms.

Cloudflare-managed domains

For domains managed through SiteForge's connected DNS workflow, continue to edit DNS records from the hosting panel.
When the integration is active, you usually do not need to change the same record manually in Cloudflare.

Notes

  • DNS changes can take a few minutes to propagate, but some networks may cache records for up to 24 hours.
  • If your DNS is hosted outside SiteForge, make the same changes with your external DNS provider instead of in the hosting panel.
  • Double-check record names, values, and priority before saving to avoid website or email disruption.
