Backups and Restore

Backups protect your website files, databases, and email data against accidental changes, failed updates, and recovery situations.

Creating a backup

  1. Go to Backups in your hosting panel.
  2. Select the website, email service, or database you want to protect.
  3. Click Create Backup Now.
  4. Wait for the process to complete and confirm that the backup appears in the list.

Tip: Availability of on-demand and scheduled backups depends on your hosting plan and the service configuration for that site.

Restoring a backup

  1. Open the Backups tab.
  2. Select the backup you want to restore.
  3. Click Restore and confirm.
  4. Choose the restore type that matches your situation:
    • Website: restore files and website data,
    • Email: restore mailboxes and message data,
    • Custom: restore only the parts you need when available.

Note: A restore can overwrite current data. If the current version may still be needed, create a fresh backup before restoring an older one.

  • Create a manual backup before major plugin updates, migrations, or structural changes.
  • Keep external copies of critical assets when possible.
  • After a restore, test the website, forms, and email flow before considering the issue resolved.

Backups can also be downloaded for offline storage when that option is available for your service.
