Creating and Managing Secure Passwords

Strong passwords protect access to your SiteForge services and reduce account takeover risk.

Password standard to use

Use passwords that are:

  • at least 12-16 characters,
  • unique for each service,
  • generated/stored in a password manager.

Avoid reused passwords, personal data, dictionary phrases, and predictable patterns.

Where separate passwords may exist

SiteForge-related services can have separate credentials, for example:

  • SiteForge Account,
  • Hosting Panel,
  • mailbox login,
  • Cloud Workspace login.

Treat each credential as separate unless your team explicitly configured single sign-on.

When to change a password immediately

  • suspected phishing or credential leak,
  • team member/account access changes,
  • unauthorized login alerts,
  • password shared in an insecure channel.

Team best practices

  • Use role-based accounts where possible.
  • Remove unused users quickly.
  • Never send passwords in plain chat/email.
  • Review critical account access regularly.
