Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds a second verification step and reduces the risk of account compromise.
Important scope note
SiteForge services can use separate 2FA setups. You may need to enable 2FA separately for:
- SiteForge Account,
- Hosting Panel,
- webmail,
- Cloud Workspace.
Typical setup flow
- Log in to the target service.
- Open Security Settings.
- Start Two-Factor Authentication setup.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app.
- Enter a valid code to confirm activation.
- Save backup codes in a secure location.
Recommended checks after activation
- Log out and log in again to confirm 2FA prompt appears.
- Verify backup codes are readable and stored safely.
- Confirm account recovery options are current.
Common issues
- Time mismatch on phone: enable automatic time sync.
- Lost device: use backup codes or account recovery flow.
- Wrong service: ensure you enabled 2FA in the correct panel.
