Analytics Metrics Glossary
This glossary explains the most common metrics used in SiteForge Analytics and Hosting Panel traffic views.
Page view
A page view is counted when a page on your website is loaded in a browser.
Visit
A visit is a browsing session on your website. One visit can include multiple page views.
Unique visit
A unique visit is an estimated single visitor/session source in the selected time range. It helps reduce repeated counting from the same source.
Referrer
A referrer is the source that sent traffic to your site, for example search engines, social media, or another website link.
Landing page
A landing page is the first page a user opens when starting a visit.
Popular pages
Popular pages are pages with the highest traffic volume in the selected period.
Total bandwidth
Total bandwidth is the amount of data transferred by website traffic in the selected period.
Total hits
Total hits is the total number of server requests. It can include HTML, images, scripts, background requests, and automated bot traffic.
Because of this, total hits is usually much higher than real people visiting your website.
Devices and browsers
Device and browser metrics show what hardware and browser types users commonly use to access your site.
Countries
Country data shows the approximate geographic origin of visits.
